Our two large lawn areas are perfect for garden parties, picnics or even your wedding ceremony.
Fountain Gardens has two main lawn areas, the upper lawn that overlooks the main lake, and the lower lawn that merges more closely with the rest of the garden.
Many guests that come to the venue comment on how lovely the lawns are. Four years ago Fountain Gardens did not have any lawn area. The now lower lawn once consisted of a bank of shrubs and three huge gum tree. The gum trees were felled and the area landscaped and flattened. The area was then hydroseeded. Year one the lawn looked great… then brown patches took over instead of green. This was the start of my education into how to keep your lawn looking good.
Lucky for me I came across a local company, Lawn Fix, who have helped me resolve any problems that arise, and have educated me in how to maintain a healthy lawn.
Lawn maintenance tip:
In the bay of Plenty we get a lot of lawn fungal infections due to the warm damp weather. It is best to water your lawn early mornings instead of evenings where the damp will sit all night long – especially when our night temperatures increase and fungal infections are rampant. I have now learned to recognise the common infections and treat immediately to keep the lawns as lush and green as possible.
